I’m gearing up for a 10-day juice fast starting February 1, so I’m collecting a lot of yummy juice recipes in one place for easy reference. I’ll also be juicing items from my Chic Weekend Juice Fast! While those are certainly delicious - I’ll need a big variety to keep my taste buds entertained.

Snacks/Just Juices:

Carotene Cocktail from Stay Healthy with Samantha!! http://manfonhealth.wordpress.com/ (Before you read on, be sure to follow her blog!!! Trust me - it’s amazing!)

  • 1 Lg. sweet potato or 2 small (peeled)
  • 1/3 a pineapple (make sure it’s good and ripe!)
  • 1  orange

Orange Carrot

  • 8 Large Fresh Cleaned Carrots
  • 2 Large Fresh Peeled Oranges

Beetutiful

  • 2 beets
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 apple, (I use Fiji in this one)
  • 1″ ginger root

Juicy Juice

  • 3 Granny Smith apples, quartered and cored
  • 1 Cup seedless green grapes
  • 1 Thin wedge lemon, peeled

Mango Madness

  • 3 apples
  • 2 pears
  • 12 carrots
  • 3 ripe mangos
  • handful of baby spinach

Orange You Glad

  • 4 oranges

Sweet Escape - this is great if you’re craving something sweet but don’t want to fall off of the fast

  • 1 Cup raspberries
  • 1 Cup Strawberries
  • 2 Oranges
  • 2 Apples (red if you want super sweet, granny smith if you like a tart taste)

Energy Inducing:

Green Machine 

  • 4 stalks kale
  • 4 stalks romaine
  • 2 Cucumbers
  • 3 Stalks of celery including leaves
  • 2 Broccoli stems
  • 2 pairs or Granny Smith apples
  • (Optional: 3 carrots)
  • 1” piece ginger

Green Zinger

  • 2 Granny Smith apples
  • 1 Cucumber
  • 1” piece of ginger 

Green Energy (Good for morning/afternoon pick-me-up!)

  • 2 Apples
  • 1/2 Cucumber
  • 1/2 Lemon (peeled)
  • 1/2 Cup of kale
  • 1/2 Cup of spinach
  • 1/4 Bunch of celery
  • 1/4 Bulb of fennel
  • 1″ of Ginger
  • 1/4 Head of romaine lettuce

Natural Healing: If this is your first juice fast, or if you’ve “been bad” in-between fasts, your body will miss caffeine, sugar, flour, etc. for the first few days. Instead of loading up on pain relievers, try a natural headache cure first. Also, your stomach may take a few days to get used to your herbivore ways. So, try some natural remedies before reaching for an antacid.

Head-over-healer

  • 1 Cup cauliflower
  • 1 Cup broccoli
  • 1 Apple

Heartburn Reliever  

  • 1 Cup Spinach
  • 6 Carrots

Green Ginger Ale

  • 1 Cucumber
  • A few stems each of mint and parsley
  • 2 leaves of kale
  • 1” piece ginger root
  • 1 lemon peeled  

 

For more stomach soothing - juice a 3-4” piece of ginger. Add the juice to one of your green juices and put the pulp in a cheese cloth. Then you can use the pulp to make some fresh ginger tea.

And remember, if you ever feel like falling off the fasting wagon…
